About the role
This role will support clients participating in our Transition Care Program across the Southern Region. As a Home Care Assistant, you will play an important role in helping older Australians live better for life in the comfort of their own homes.
You will build meaningful relationships with clients and take the time to understand their individual needs, goals and preferences. In this role, you will support clients to rebuild strength, mobility and independence following a hospital stay.
Your support may include assistance with daily tasks, activities, personal care and mobility, helping clients regain confidence and maintain their independence at home.
You will enjoy exceptional learning opportunities and be supported to develop your skills and your career. A motor vehicle allowance and travel time is also payable for travel between clients as well as a full working tool kit, including a mobile phone.

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;

Certificate III in a relevant field (Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or Home and Community Care)

Minimum of 6 months demonstrated experience in a personal carer role to be able to work without direct supervision

Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) & current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)

Current and unrestricted Australian driver’s licence (C class) & own registered and insured car

Sound best practice personal care skills appropriate to the role

Good understanding of the requirements to support clients living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours

Strong organisational and time management skills

Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their representatives

Basic cooking skills

Applicants with a basic understanding of aged care packages will be highly regarded
