About the role

The Care and Wellbeing Assistant provides proactive, person-centered support under the supervision of a Registered or Enrolled Nurse. The role focuses on improving residents' quality of life by assisting with activities of daily living, engaging them in healthy ageing exercises, and providing social and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health Promoting Services: Promote resident independence, confidence, and physical strength while supporting personal choices and health goals.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and nutrition in line with care plans.
  • Social & Cognitive Engagement: Facilitate one-on-one activities, outings, and conversation to maintain mobility, dexterity, and cognitive function, including the use of the Resparke platform.

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualification: Certificate III (Individual Support, Aged Care, or Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous aged care experience is required, with experience in lifestyle roles or exercise support considered desirable.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong communication and time management skills, manual handling capabilities, and a solid understanding of dementia support, aged care standards, and the importance of healthy ageing.
  • Attributes: Demonstrated integrity, resilience, empathy, and a commitment to person-centered care and the "Better for life" model.
