About the role
As a vital member of the Dementia Respite Cottage Leadership Team, you will drive the strategic delivery of respite services for clients living with cognitive impairment, BPSD, and complex health needs. The Site Lead (EN) works within the Respite Care Services team to deliver the SCC vision of supporting clients wellbeing through leading the mission of “Doing with, not for” approach to support clients to maintain their quality of life.
This role will see you working closely with the Registered Nurse and will support a person-centred care within our dementia specific environment. In addition to this you will monitor and review client’s care needs, identifying early signs of decline or changing needs, escalates to the RN, and working with the Respite team to implement strategies that support the client's ongoing participation and holistic wellbeing.
- Provide nursing services strictly within the EN Scope of Practice and Competency Standards, utilizing your experience to achieve agreed client outcomes.
- Lead and support Respite Assistants in developing physical, social, and mentally engaging activities tailored to client needs.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activities, service quality and client outcomes to ensure it meets client’s wellbeing and overall satisfaction of the service.
- Resolve immediate care or service delivery issues promptly while modeling a positive, inclusive team culture.

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following;
- Diploma of Nursing (Current AHPRA Registration) + First Aid & CPR.
- 5+ years in Dementia Care with deep knowledge of BPSD and disease progression.
- Strong case management, high-level communication, and proficiency in Google Suite/Aged Care systems.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills with an ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Applicants who hold an additional Certification in Dementia Care will be highly regarded.
