About the role
As a Senior Exercise Physiologist, your role will be a key driver in supporting our allied health and therapy team as well as driving clinical excellence and providing mentorship to junior clinicians and therapy staff. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality, holistic, and client-centered services that align with Southern Cross Care's (SCC) healthy aging and "Better for Life" model.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Undertake holistic assessments to identify each clients needs, goals and preferences
- Provide high quality, efficient and timely clinical services to contribute to better outcomes for clients
- Provide therapy services in the management of complex care needs to achieve the most positive outcome possible for clients
- Support, guide and mentor junior discipline specific clinicians to enhance and grow their clinical skill set and discipline knowledge specific to the aged care sector
- Advocate for Health & Fitness with stakeholders and partners.
- Head up and take responsibility for clinic or discipline specific meetings, including staff, discipline stream and/or case conferencing meetings as required.
- Thorough understanding and demonstration of Health & Fitness Policies and procedures

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;
- must be an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with an appropriate tertiary level qualification and current full registration with Exercise and Sports Science Australia
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience
- Senior first aid and CPR certificate
- Current driver’s licence
- Broad relevant experience with an understanding of clinical practices in an aged care setting
- Experience in the multidisciplinary environment with a focus on reablement pathways for older people
- Ability to teach, coach and motivate clients, using models of behaviour change, scientific evidence, clinical reasoning, and accounting for sociocultural and individual factors.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of both internal and external customers.
- proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (e.g. Docs, Sheets, Gmail etc.) and in-house databases.
