  • Permanent Full Time Filler Position - 76 hours per fortnight
    • A rotating roster covering 7 days a week, which may include morning (AM), afternoon (PM), and night (ND) shifts.
    • You must be flexible to accommodate the varying shift schedule.

 

About the role

To provide holistic leadership to care and support teams, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred, and health-promoting services tailored to meet each resident's needs, goals, and preferences. The role involves clinical judgement, assessment, and regular review of resident needs to support independence and quality of life, while embracing SCC values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and promote health-promoting services, supervise all staff (Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration) on each shift, monitor care, and provide coaching.
  • Clinical Care: Apply sound clinical judgements, assess and manage resident conditions and risks, administer medications safely, promote a restraint-free environment, and ensure optimal use of medications (e.g., monitor psychotropic and PRN administration).
  • Person-Centred Care: Listen to residents/representatives, develop safe and effective care and service plans considering social, cultural, and medical needs, and support informed decision-making.
  • Documentation and Governance: Read progress notes daily, ensure clear shift-to-shift handover, monitor meal services, and manage incidents (e.g., investigate falls).

About you

  • Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA, and Current Provide First Aid & Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in an aged care environment.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Sound best practice clinical skills, excellent understanding of supporting residents with dementia, and excellent knowledge of Aged Care Standards and AN-ACC.
