About Southern Cross Care
At Southern Cross Care, we live and breathe our “Better for life” model, delivering exceptional, person-centred care to our community. Guided by our values of Service, Courage, and Compassion, we know that high-performing teams start with inspiring leadership. Our People & Culture team is committed to identifying, growing, and empowering leaders at all levels of our organisation.
The Opportunity: Championing & Developing Leaders
Are you an accomplished L&D professional with firsthand leadership experience and a true passion for growing people?
We are looking for a forward-thinking Learning & Development Business Partner to drive our Leadership Development program. In this role, your primary mission will be designing, executing, and evolving comprehensive leadership programs that build capability, inspire culture, and prepare current and emerging leaders to thrive.
Bringing your own leadership background into the role, you will coach, mentor, and partner with operational managers and senior stakeholders across the organisation—translating leadership theory into practical, high-impact business outcomes.
Key Focus Areas
-
Lead the Leadership Development Strategy: Design, implement, and continuously improve tailored leadership and management programs that strengthen leadership pipelines and team effectiveness.
-
Executive & Operational Business Partnering: Partner closely with People & Culture Business Partners, operational leaders, and subject-matter experts to diagnose leadership challenges, advise, and deliver bespoke capability solutions.
-
Dynamic Leadership Facilitation: Facilitate high-energy, practical leadership workshops, team-building sessions, and management capability modules across face-to-face and virtual settings.
-
Blended Instructional Design: Oversee training needs analysis (TNA) and build modern, interactive leadership learning pathways using digital authoring tools (Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia) and multi-channel delivery.
-
Strategic OD Initiatives: Support the broader Organisational Development (OD) strategic plan, driving special capability projects and embedding core cultural behaviours.
-
LMS, Vendors & Metrics: Oversee the administration and tracking of leadership programs on our LMS, manage program budgets, lead external vendor partnerships, and evaluate learning ROI.
What You Bring
You are a credible coach and facilitator who speaks the language of leadership because you have lived it. You combine strategic vision with the instructional design expertise needed to turn concepts into engaging learning experiences.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Proven Leadership Background: Prior practical experience in a leadership, management, or team-lead capacity, coupled with significant experience in an L&D/OD business partnering role within a medium-to-large organisation.
-
Leadership Program Expertise: Demonstrated track record in developing, implementing, and evaluating formal leadership development strategies and frameworks.
-
Relevant Qualifications:
-
Certificate IV or Diploma in Leadership and/or Management.
-
Certificate IV or Diploma in Training and Assessment (TAE), or equivalent.
-
Diploma in Training Design & Development (desirable).
-
-
Instructional Design & LMS Tools: Experience in digital content authoring tools (Storyline 360, Captivate, Camtasia) and modern LMS platforms (e.g., Kineo, Moodle, ELMO, TalentLMS).
-
Influence & Facilitation: Exceptional presentation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence leaders across all levels.
-
Values Alignment: Strong resonance with our core values of Service, Courage, and Compassion, alongside an understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
What We Offer
-
A high-visibility, purpose-driven role where you directly shape the leadership culture of our organisation.
-
The autonomy to innovate and drive impactful leadership initiatives from inception to delivery.
-
A collaborative, supportive People & Culture environment.
-
Competitive salary packaging benefits available in the not-for-profit sector.
