About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Home Care Assistant / Rapid Responder to join our Home Care Services Team in the Fleurieu Region.
 
The Senior Home Care Assistant provides an "Express" service to customers when Home Care Assistants are on unplanned leave or as needed, working closely with and receiving direction from the wider Home Care team.
 
In this role, you will help older Australians live better in their own homes by building relationships, understanding their individual needs, goals, and preferences, and delivering tailored support with daily tasks, activities, personal care, and mobility. Your efforts will contribute to improving their quality of life, supporting them to live happy, healthy, and active lives.
 
You will also benefit from excellent learning opportunities and support for your professional development. This position includes a motor vehicle allowance and travel time for travel between clients, as well as a complete working toolkit, including a mobile phone.

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;

  • Certificate III in a relevant field (Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or Home and Community Care)

  • minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in a personal carer role to be able to work without direct supervision

  • current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) & current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)

  • current and unrestricted Australian driver’s licence (C class) & own registered and insured car

  • sound best practice personal care skills appropriate to the role

  • good understanding of the requirements to support clients living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours

  • strong organisational and time management skills

  • ability to build positive relationships with clients and their representatives

  • basic cooking skills

  • applicants with a basic understanding of aged care packages will be highly regarded
