About the role
The Fitness Instructor delivers high-quality, person-centred health and fitness services to older adults in the community. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role focuses on improving mobility, strength, independence, and overall quality of life by providing individual and group exercise sessions.
Key Responsibilities;

Executing clinically prescribed exercises under the direction of allied health professionals, adapting programs within scope, and escalating concerns when necessary.

Using motivational techniques to encourage participation and ensuring participants perform exercises correctly and safely.

Maintaining accurate records, managing group class procedures, and adhering to health and safety regulations to minimize injury.
- Fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, supporting students, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following;

Certificate IV in Fitness and current registration with a relevant body (e.g., AUSactive, Exercise and Sports Science Australia), a full unrestricted driver’s licence, and current First Aid and CPR.

Proven experience in delivering tailored individual and group exercise programs to older adults in the community and working in multidisciplinary environments.

Demonstrated delivery of progressive resistance training programs with older people
- Proficiency in computer skills (Google Suite), strong organizational abilities, knowledge of Aged Care Standards, and the ability to work autonomously.

Strong communication and time management skills, manual handling capabilities, and a solid understanding of dementia support, aged care standards, and the importance of healthy ageing.
