About the role

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in finance, legal documentation, or property administration? Join Southern Cross Care’s Retirement Living Team as a Contract & Financial Support Officer for a 6-month fixed-term contract.

In this vital role, you will support our operational, financial, and strategic goals across South Australia, Northern Territory, and Victoria. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality legal documentation, manage billing and trust accounts, ensure regulatory compliance with the Retirement Villages Act(s), and deliver outstanding customer service to our residents and their families throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal & Contract Management: Prepare and manage sales contracts, legal, and financial documentation for both Resident Funded Units (RFUs) and Retirement Living Units (RLUs).

  • Financial Administration: Accurately handle incoming deposits and settlement funds, calculate maintenance fees, reconcile the Retirement Living Trust Account, and prepare final refund documentation for outgoing residents.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure strict adherence to relevant Retirement Villages Act(s) and Aged Care Standards. Assist in financial modelling, analytics, reporting, and operational process design.

  • Billing & Operations: Invoicing, utility spreadsheet maintenance (Gas, Electricity, SA Water), purchase order processing, and managing the Rent Strategy program.

  • Resident & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide exceptional service to prospective and existing residents, their families, conveyances, and internal teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: Degree (completed or currently studying) in Property, Law, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Practical experience within your field of study, ideally within property, aged care, or financial services.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets), CRM systems, Access, or Microsoft equivalents.

  • Soft Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
