About the role

This full-time position, reporting to the Project Manager - Capital Works within the Environments Department of Southern Cross Care (SCC), is responsible for the coordination and delivery of Capital Expenditure ('Capex') Projects across South Australia, Victoria, and the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Coordination: Coordinate projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget. This includes site meeting coordination, progressive inspections, monitoring progress and quality, and providing support to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Scope & Procurement: Investigate and generate scopes of work for competitive tendering, assess and award work orders, procure and manage contracts, and adhere to company procurement policies. This also involves creating budget estimations and reviewing invoices.
  • Program & Scheduling: Create project schedules, monitor and report on cost, quality, and program, and contribute to budget forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate stakeholder input, liaise with respective SCC departments (e.g., Retirement Living, Residential Care, ICT), and hold meetings with management and residents.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure project adherence to the Building Code of Australia, Retirement Living legislation, and Commonwealth Aged Care accreditation standards. Compile all applicable handover documentation.

About you

  • Qualifications/Requirements: Degree/diploma in Project Management or 3+ years in project coordination (or similar), White Card, Current SA Driver's Licence, and a valid Police Clearance.
  • Experience: Previous construction/remedial experience in property, capital works, or project management; budget monitoring; and successful construction project delivery (preferably in retirement living/aged care).
  • Skills/Knowledge: Sound financial and report writing skills, excellent communication, document control, proficiency with Google suite, and sound knowledge of construction/design processes.
  • Desirable: Experience with retirement living, aged care design/development, and the Commonwealth accreditation process.
