About the role

The Laundry Attendant provides high-quality housekeeping services by performing general laundry duties as part of a cohesive team. The role emphasises a person-centred approach, supporting resident independence and choice within the framework of the "Better for life" model

  • Laundry Operations: Handle routine washing, drying, sorting, folding, ironing, labelling, and basic clothing repairs with care.

  • Resident Support: Build positive connections with residents, listen with empathy, and support their independence and dignity.

  • Safety & Quality: Safely manage laundry chemicals, follow workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures, and maintain resident privacy.

  • Teamwork: Collaborate smoothly with housekeeping and nursing staff, reporting any resident health or behaviour changes.

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a commercial laundry role
  • Clear communication skills in English, especially when interacting with older people
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • A basic understanding of how to support residents living with dementia
  • A respectful, team-oriented approach aligned with our values of Service, Courage, and Compassion
