About the role
In a group based cottage environment and under the guidance of the Site Lead and the Community Respite Program Lead, you will provide high quality, person centred care, safe and effective service to our clients living with cognitive and physical deficits. Support will be provided through daily individual and/or group exercise programs that are tailored to meet each client’s needs, goals and preferences.
You will work with other members of the respite team to deliver these targeted programs, with a primary focus being towards improved strength, conditioning, physical performance and balance, so that clients can continue to live healthier, independent, socially engaged lives.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to;

Undertaking holistic assessments and screening to identify the assessed physical performance needs

Providing a combination of cognitive and physical opportunities for all clients to improve their strength, balance and physical performance

Engaging in the early intervention process to identify frailty and decline early and intervene early to optimise resident physical function and quality of life

Work positively and collaboratively with other respite staff and qualified H&W practitioners to provide proactive person centred service and support, that is safe and effective.

Implementing continuous improvement projects to improve service delivery and access for all clients

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;

Certificate IV or higher in Fitness, Exercise Science, Personal Training, Exercise Physiology or equivalent

Current accreditation with Physical Activity Australia, AUSActive or Exercise & Sports Science Australia
-
Experience in designing and implementing exercise programs for older people, including people living with cognitive impairment and frailty
-
Ability to efficiently analyse information, respond to and advocate on behalf of customer needs
-
Ability to identify best practice fitness program delivery and report to management
-
Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as the ability to maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders

Strong organisational and time management skills

Proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (e.g. Docs, Sheets, Gmail etc.) and various in-house databases
- Previous experience working in an aged care environment
