About the role

In this position you will work as part of a cohesive team, undertaking general catering duties for the provision of high quality catering services. 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Providing safe and effective food services that support residents' daily living needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution, and serving of all types of meals for residents, visitors, staff, and functions, observing food safety, HACCP, quality, and hygiene standards.
  • Maintaining accurate relevant catering records, including monitoring and recording food temperatures.
  • Reporting resident feedback, satisfaction, or preference requests regarding meals to the Chef.
  • Assisting in stocktaking, requisition of supplies, and checking deliveries.
  • Identifying and reporting any mechanical defects or service requirements for catering equipment to the manager.

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

The successful candidate will have the following;

  • Experience: Previous experience in a food handling role is essential. Previous food handling experience in aged care is desirable.
  • Essential Skills: Sound best practice food handling skills, sound communication skills with a level of English literacy to speak to older people and read written instructions, and time management to manage own workload without direct supervision.
  • Essential Knowledge: A basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, and a basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards applicable to the role.
