About the role
As a Health and Wellness Promoter, you will create opportunities for Southern Cross Care residents to participate in physical activity via individual and group exercise programs.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to;

Enabling residents to maximise independence, improve and maintain their health, wellness and quality of life

Using best practice, evidence based tools to plan and deliver high quality health & wellness services with the emphasis on person centred care and healthy ageing through goal setting, progressive resistance training, health literacy

Working with a multidisciplinary team to develop tailored exercise programs to meet resident goals and quality of life outcomes

Engaging in the early intervention process to identify frailty and decline early and intervene early to optimise resident physical function and quality of life

Implementing organisational programs across all residential homes

Undertaking audits to ensure all residential Health & Wellness programs operate in accordance with Southern Cross Care procedure

Ensuring our Health and Wellness Centre has suitable resources for programs and is maintained in a clean and safe manner

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;

Qualifications: A Cert IV in Fitness (minimum), Exercise Science, or Exercise Physiology.

Accreditation: Current registration with AUSActive, Physical Activity Australia, or ESSA.

Knowledge: A deep understanding of healthy ageing, frailty, and designing programs for those with cognitive impairments.

Systems: Comfort using Google Suite and in-house databases.

Communication: The ability to build rapport with residents, families, and external stakeholders effortlessly.
