About the role

The Fitness Instructor is responsible for delivering health and fitness services to older adults in the community, with a focus on improving mobility, strength, independence, and quality of life. Working within a multidisciplinary team, this role involves providing individual and group-based exercise sessions, following directions from allied health professionals. Key Responsibilities; 

  • Service Delivery: Safely execute, adapt, and progress clinically prescribed exercise programs for individuals and groups under the guidance of allied health professionals.

  • Client Motivation: Use evidence-based behavioural strategies to keep clients engaged, energised, and moving safely.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely professional records of sessions and progress while upholding strict safety and care standards.

  • Team Collaboration: Partner with colleagues and external stakeholders to continuously refine and elevate our community programs.

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential Criteria & Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Fitness (a degree in Exercise Science is highly desirable).

  • Current Registration with a recognised industry body (e.g., AUSactive, ESSA).

  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

  • Full Driver’s Licence (unrestricted)

Experience & Skills

  • Proven track record of delivering exercise programs for older adults in community or health settings.

  • Deep understanding of exercise progression principles, health/safety regulations, and Aged Care Standards.

  • Strong digital literacy (proficiency with Google Suite).

  • Excellent time management skills and the confidence to work autonomously.
